GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

TEAM WAIVER / ROSTERS
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE A COPY OF YOUR TEAM WAIVER / ROSTER. ALL TEAM ROSTERS CAN BE VIEWED BY LOGGING INTO YOUR ONLINE PLAY SLOPITCH ACCOUNT.
TEAM WAIVER / ROSTER AND PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
You have submitted your 2025 Provincial Championship Team Waiver/Roster for the Provincial Championship tournament. This is the only roster that is accepted for this event. Teams can have a maximum of 16 players and 2 coaches.
You may not add any players at tournament check in or throughout the tournament weekend.
Team Waiver/Roster may be checked at registration by the team manager only. NO TEAM MAY ADD PLAYERS FOR ANY REASON, EVEN IF THAT LEAVES THE TEAM UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE.
PLAYERS ARE ADVISED TO CARRY PHOTO IDENTIFICATION TO EACH GAME. ROSTER CHECKS WILL TAKE PLACE THROUGHOUT THE EVENT.
Players must have played (be on the line up card) in the round robin portion to be eligible to play in the Elimination portion of the event.
TEAM CHECK IN
1 player MUST check the team in at tournament headquarters PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST GAME.
Please come prepared to register 2 emergency contacts with cell phone information as well as Hotel Contact Information.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
The official tournament draw is posted at tournament headquarters. Please note: The tournament schedule could change at any time. All teams are reminded to check the scoreboards after each game to ensure that no changes to the schedule have been made. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 scheduled games during the tournament. A round robin format will be used with a portion of the teams moving into a single elimination tournament format.
It is the responsibility of each team to know their schedule throughout the event. (both Round Robin and Elimination Games).
In the event that the tournament has to be stopped for any reason, all teams are to remain at the diamonds. The umpires will contact tournament headquarters for direction. The tournament convener has the right to revise the tournament schedule at any time, including reducing the number of guaranteed scheduled games.

REPORTING SCORES
Both teams are to report the score to the tournament headquarters and ensure that the proper score has been posted. All discrepancies must be reported within 60 minutes of the score being posted. After 60 minutes, all recorded scores stand. Remote scoring is in place. Teams can text game scores to 416-708-2148. Information must contact the name of the teams, the winning team, the score, the time and the diamond. It is the responsibility of the team to ensure that the proper scores have been posted on the tournament boards.
HEADQUARTERS LOCATIONS
The tournament headquarters is Chippawa Memorial Arena located at 9000 Sodom Rd. Niagara Falls.
This location features 6 fenced diamonds, in addition to a licensed Arena where refreshments will be sold, along with food and tournament vendors. All tournament information and tournament scores will be available at the Arena.
Absolutely no outside alcoholic beverages are permitted within the park. City bylaws do not permit the consumption of alcohol or smoking at any diamonds. Offenders will be eliminated from the tournament.
Satellite diamonds will be used to accommodate the number of teams in the tournament. Tournament headquarters features all of the tournament scores, tournament check in, umpire headquarters, beer and food sales along with Homerun Sports who will be onsite with terrific deals on all Slo-Pitch National Sponsor’s Sporting equipment and souvenirs.
The tournament headquarters for the Coed Championships is SesquiCentennial Park located at 11333 Bramalea Rd, Brampton.
This location features 8 fenced diamonds, in addition to a licensed Arena where refreshments will be sold, along with food and tournament vendors. All tournament information and tournament scores will be available at the Arena.
RULES
All teams should be familiar with the SPN rulebook - these are the official tournament rules. Make sure that your team has reviewed these rules and that you have a copy of the 2023 Rulebook at the Championships. Please note that there is a time limit of 1 hour 10 minutes for each game (excluding the semi final and final game - mercy rule is still in effect). Time Limit Warning – each game is 1 hour and 10 minutes. At the one hour mark – the umpire will announce the time and advise the teams that they will finish the inning they are currently in and play one additional inning. If the home team is ahead at the bottom of the additional inning it is not played.
A 1&1 count will be in place for each batter.
A scoring line at home plate/strike mat and a commitment line shall be used in all divisions.
A HOME PLATE/STRIKE MAT WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE BALLS AND STRIKES IN ALL DIVISIONS
A max of 6 runs per inning will be in place for all divisions with the final inning being an open inning.
USSSA approved bats will be legal for this event.
PRIZING:
All tournament prizing must be claimed at the event in which it is won. Slo-Pitch National will not be responsible for keeping unclaimed prizing from any event. Full teams are to report back to the Tournament Headquarters after the game has been completed to have a team photo taken and claim prizing. Prizing will not be awarded to players who are not in attendance to accept it. All teams must agree to have their photo taken.
1st place – Cash & Champions Jackets
Ring packages will be provided to each team to arrange for ring ordering if the team so chooses. There will be no sizing of rings onsite at the event. All first place teams will be provided with prize money based on team entries and have the option to organize the team purchase of championships rings after the event.
2nd place – Sport Bags
3/4th Place – Commemorative Championship Hats
TEAM RANKINGS
All teams shall be ranked into the appropriate divisions, by Slo-Pitch National. Slo-Pitch National reserves the right to remove any team from the tournament at any time. Team Rankings cannot be protested at the event. All players must honestly indicate their highest level played in SPN and or SPO events in 2019 - 2023 seasons. Players who participate on SPO Super Series teams must list their highest levels played in those events. Failure to ensure your ranking is properly listed on your team roster shall be considered the same as misrepresenting and or falsifying information under STG&OR pages of the Slo-Pitch National Rulebook.
Winning teams shall be reviewed upon completion of the championships to ensure that all players calibres were honestly reported. Failure to comply to team ranking guidelines could result in the tournament awards being withheld and the team being disqualified from the results. Note: Disqualifications will not alter the standings for the remaining teams in the event
PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
All tournament participants shall conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. Slo-Pitch National reserves the right to remove any team or tournament participant from the event for failure to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner. All player ejections during games, shall be reviewed to determine if the player will be eliminated from the remainder of the event. Players expelled from a game shall face the penalties outlined in the Slo-Pitch National rulebook. Players or teams may be removed from the event if they are violating any municipal or provincial laws. PLEASE REFER TO OUR MEMBERS
ABSOLUTELY NO TAILGATING WILL BE PERMITTED AT THE TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTER OR SATELLITE DIAMONDS DURING THE TOURNAMENT. TEAMS FOUND TAILGATING COULD FACE ELIMINATION FROM THE EVENT WITHOUT REFUND. TEAMS ELIMINATED FROM THE EVENT FOUND TO BE TAILGATING COULD FACE SUSPENSION FROM FUTURE PARTICIPATION.
UNIFORMS
Matching tops (same body colour) are mandatory. Numbers are preferred but not required
BASES
Bases will be supplied by Slo-Pitch National. The home team will be decided by a coin toss prior to the game.
UMPIRES
A one umpire system will be used for some games in all divisions. The umpire in chiefs will be located at tournament headquarters and will deal with all rule questions or concerns.
BATS
The game umpire will check bats before each game to ensure that they meet with the bat specifications outlined in the rulebook. Any bats that do not meet specifications will not be allowed on the fence for the game. Any bats deemed illegal by USSSA shall not be allowed in any games.
ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO GET TO GAMES
Please be prepared and allow extra time to get to your games. Park addresses are available at tournament headquarters and at www.slo-pitch.com Teams should plan to be ready for their game no less than 15 minutes before the scheduled game time.
PLEASE KEEP OUR PARKS CLEAN
PLEASE TAKE AND DISCARD/RECYCLE ALL TRASH FROM YOUR DUGOUT IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR GAME. THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING THE FACILITIES THAT WE USE AND ENSURING THE TEAMS PLAYING AFTER YOU DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOUR TRASH!
SOUVENIRS & SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Souvenirs will be on sale at the tournament headquarters through Homerun Sports. Any player caught shoplifting from the onsite store, will be removed from the event, and forwarded to the police. The team for which the player plays will be disqualified from the event without compensation.
MEDICAL ATTENTION
All teams should carry a first aid kit to each game. Serious injuries need to be treated at local hospitals.
